Natural Gouache Brush Set for Procreate Review: 110 Brushes for Digital Painting
Creating convincing gouache artwork digitally can be challenging. Standard Procreate brushes may produce clean results, but artists often need more texture, opacity variation, dry-brush effects, and natural-looking edges to capture the character of traditional paint. The Natural Gouache Brush Set for Procreate by Manero Brushes is designed for artists who want a broader collection of digital tools specifically focused on a gouache-inspired painting workflow.
The Natural Gouache Brush Set is a digital painting toolkit created for Procreate 5.4 and above. It includes 110 Procreate brushes organized into multiple categories covering sketching, washes, opaque painting, layering, dry textures, hard edges, detailing, blending, splatters, and other creative effects.
Instead of providing brushes alone, the package also includes supporting textures, demonstrations, documentation, and a prepared Procreate canvas. This makes it useful for artists who want both creative tools and guidance for building a digital gouache workflow.
One of the biggest advantages is variety. The collection contains brushes for initial sketches, transparent washes, heavier opaque strokes, textured surfaces, split-bristle effects, fine details, blending, scattered marks, and color-dynamic effects.
Having multiple brush styles within one organized set can reduce the need to combine tools from several unrelated brush packs. Illustrators can experiment with softer backgrounds, defined shapes, textured shading, and expressive finishing marks while remaining inside a consistent toolkit.
The package includes a high-resolution paper texture plus five PNG texture sheets representing different paint-consistency levels. These resources can help introduce surface variation into otherwise smooth digital artwork.
A ready-made Procreate canvas is also included with the relevant textures already arranged, which may be particularly helpful for users who prefer to begin painting without manually setting up every layer.
Tutorials and Learning Support
Another useful addition is the 42-page PDF guidebook. It explains the included brushes, layer organization, paper textures, and general workflow, along with a step-by-step painting tutorial.
Buyers also receive five time-lapse painting demonstrations, providing visual examples of how the tools can be combined during a complete illustration.
Who Is This For?
This Procreate gouache brush set should appeal to digital illustrators, hobby artists, concept artists, and traditional painters moving into digital art. Beginners may appreciate the included guide and demonstrations, while experienced Procreate users may value the large selection of specialized brushes and textures.
